First Impressions

A warm smile paired with intense bright green eyes greet each new face with compassion and an open heart. Mere ilms away one could catch scents of flora, woods, and cut grass lingering on the Viera- a scent always true to who she is and a reflection of her passion as an Gleaner. Tall ears stand upright with confidence above a blanket of long flowing brown hair; lovingly weaved with fresh flowers and herbs.Though her height and Viera heritage tends to make her stand out more as a denizen of Sharlayan, she is still outwardly approachable and will always see the light in others and gladly offer her assistance to those in need, stranger or not. Sometimes seen with a tome, or maybe a staff but scarcely equipped for combat. The Gleaner's pack stuffed full of tomes, vials and an array of nearly any herbal or medicinal concoction one could need.When she is not on an expedition or spending the time logging her findings and samples from field work, she can be found strolling along the docks for fresh air or reading the afternoons away in a cozy nook away from the bustling city.

Brief History

Sister of the Wood
Following in the very same footsteps as her ancestors before her, Ris was raised within the Dei-Ijla tribe of Golmore alongside her adopted brother in a very tight-knit community. Her passion for nature took root the moment the young Viera took her first brave steps into the wilds; taking in all her eyes could see and basking in every ilm of the Jungle's verdant splendor. While her duty was tied within the walls of her tribe, Ris would always find her way out with a longing to see more of the world outside even Golmore itself.

Exile
Leading into her adolescence and during the period in which many of her companions and brother would take upon the role of Wood Warders, Ris made the choice to exile herself in order to pursue knowledge and explore the world outside of what she called "Home" for so many years. Not only to forge a new path, but one with the purpose of helping others and being able to find medicinal cures for those without current remedies or could otherwise not procure it.

Student of Sharlayan
Ris' deep rooted experience in the Golmore Jungle and thirst for knowledge made her an invaluable asset to the Scholars of Sharlayan and clerics alike. While not on expeditions and carrying her role as a Gleaner, Ris would often take contracts to collect samples and specimens for clients which included a variety of herbs, flowers, fungi, roots, saps, you name it! Though gil is always nice, she prefers the exchange of knowledge or tomes for her work rather than real currency- new knowledge she could then use to further her side studies as an fledgling apothecary, an interest roused by a certain viera quite dear to her and the newfound aspiration in helping them heal through nurturing and nature.

Hooks and Trivia

Healer: Are you hurt? Seeking a medicinal pick-me-up? Even off-duty Ris may have just the thing in her bag to help!

Senses: Like most of her kind, Ris has heightened sense of smell and hearing, both which serve her well in the wilds and when in search of particular plants and flora. Ris also has an ability to sense the aether around her, or "mist" as she calls it- her overall sight is unhindered but she is accustom to recognizing one's mist when in her presence. She tends to see one's aether as an aura, an artistic display of their soul and personality at a surface
levelNature: It goes without saying, Ris has a deep passion and respect for nature and it's splendors. She has a knack for identifying plants, different species of animals and insects everywhere she goes. Just be weary when asking simple questions as to what a specific plant is, as you are in for an ear-full from an all too eager Viera.Combat: Ris is passive, and will always prefer a peaceful outcome over conflict that could hurt others. Despite being of Viera background, Ris is not as martially adept as her sisters. What she does lack in martial prowess however, she excels with her ability in channeling Aether.

Fledgling Apothecary: Ris is currently working on teas and serums to help with various conditions that affect body and mind (PTSD, aetheric sickness/wounds, Anxiety, persistent night terrors, etc). While she is new and some batches may include some surprise effects, it is a hobby of love to help those around her that need extra care.The Lover: A follower of Menphina since a kit, her ears will perk up with the mentioning of her diety or you just may see her bask in the moon's glow on a clear night to show appreciation. Fellow moonlit child or not, you're welcome to watch the night sky with her, care to join?Fae Friend: At times, she is accompanied by a blue bird that often takes form of a smaller au ra/ bird like girl, Dinky is her name and they are best friends. Though Ris sets a good example, one cannot dismiss the fact Dinky is a Fae creature and very much has her own fae tendencies. Be warned.Forest Wanderer: Are you lost? Need help navigating through difficult terrain? Or simply need a foraging buddy? Ris would gladly lend a helping hand and safely guide you, or even help keep an eye out to what you're searching for. Only payment she'd request is a story while they venture together- oh and sharing snacks would be quite nice too!
